I've been in pursuit of the best EDC pocket knife for quite some time. I've tried many options, at many price points, with multiple characteristics. From cheap Chinese brands such as Ganzo to expensive brands such as Benchmade, I've tried lots. Then I decided I wanted a knife that was neither too big nor too small, that was easy to open and close with one hand, that was slim and light, that had deep pocket clip, and that didn't drive too much attention. I've bought and tried the Benchmade Griptilian, the Benchmade 940 Osborne, the CRKT CEO Flipper, the Ontario RAT-1, the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, and many others. Recently, I got a Buck 311 Kingsman on sale at Canadian Tire. I enjoyed it because it was close to what I wanted, and it was so cheap that I wasn't afraid to lose it. So, I decided that my perfect knife should be all black, a flipper, with a crossbar or button lock, with a deep pocket clip, with a blade length of around three inches, and at a price point that wouldn't make me afraid to use it. The Kershaw 2041 Monitor fits all of my criteria. It's not perfect, but it's near perfection. Blades Canada delivered it to me surprisingly fast. To be sincere, I've just gotten my Kershaw 2041 Monitor today, but I'm pretty sure I've made the right decision.
