Lion Steel T5 CVG Fixed Blade Knife, Niolox, Micarta Green, Leather Sheath
[LSTT5CVG]

$307.99CDN $239.99CDN

Amazing knife made by a quality company. In the little time that I have had this knife, I can tell that it is next level when it comes to performance and quality. For reference, I have a couple of Becker knives which are amazing for the price point but this really is next level in comparison.

The first thing that really stood out is the ergonomics. The single, milled piece of micarta which covers all but the spine feels so comfortable in the hand when using it for harder use tasks. It's textured in a way that doesn't feel too tactile but definitely adds grip and stability.

The high sabre grind is a great compromise between stability and capacity for fine slicing. Where you'll notice the difference is in food prep, where it doesn't perform quite as well as a dedicated woods craft knife would but has so much more versatility in its capacity for hard-use tasks like batoning and heavier woods craft. I find it to be a great compromise in this sense.

The steel feels and performs like other premium steel. This is my first Niolox knife but from what I've seen so far, it holds a wicked edge and is fairly easy to sharpen in comparison to steels like S30V or M390.

The sheath is handmade from premium leather. It is comfortable on the hip and the knife can be unsheathed/resheathed one-handed with no problem. I do wish they had a polymer/Kydex option, though.

The primary use this knife will get is in the backcountry. I camp a lot in remote places and the most important tool to have with you if things go south is a reliable knife. With the capacity for woods-craft to heavy use survival tasks, I am more than confident that this knife will serve me for years to come.

OH! And the sharpening choil throws great sparks from a fire rod. Some people in other reviews I've seen say that this knife won't throw sparks, but it does.

If you're on the fence, this is your sign to go for it. You won't be disappointed. Everything about this knife is great.
