First do not use as a machete. It is not weighted or balanced for chopping, it does have a good pricing point and it came sharp enough to cut plastic water jugs, and paper, but it could use a good sharpening. It has China, etched on the blade. I do like the grip, which takes some getting used to but I suspect would be good with wet hands. Overall this is not something for combat but it will cut, and it will pierce, I do like it's slim profile and it is light. The sheath is nothing to rave about, it has several nylon clasps and will hold the blade in place, but it would be slow if you needed to draw it quickly, it does have a reinforced plastic tip to help prevent the blade from cutting through it so that's a plus. I got this on sale and it is good for my purposes but I am not using it in combat so... yeah.
